Notash received his BFA in Fine art at the San francisco Art Institute An early member of the collaborative group "the Barnstormers". Over 15 years, the Barnstormers have created large-scale collaborative paintings, films, and performances. The group was formed in 1999 by David Ellis, aka "Skwerm" a pilgrimage of twenty-five artists inhabited the rural town of Cameron, North Carolina, where they painted barns, tractor-trailers, tobacco shacks, and farm equipment; and continue to return to paint new murals. Notash became a liaison between the international group of artists, the town and press. He was invited to be part of the groups anniversary show at the Joshua Liner Gallery in 2010, but did not exhibit at that time
