Wenxi Chen (Wen Hsi) is one of Singapore's pioneer artists, widely known for his avant-garde Chinese paintings. He studied at the Shanghai College of Art in 1928, then transfered to Xinhua College of Art where he graduated after studying under Pan Tianshou and worked along side classmates Chen Jen Hao, Chen Chong Swee and Liu Kang.
