Alf Lindberg studerade vid Slöjdföreningens skola, vid Valand för Tor Bjurström och Sigfrid Ullman, företog resor till Frankrike, Holland och Spanien.
Han målade figurmotiv, brett målade landskap, ofta utsikter med betonande av ljus och lufteffekter, inspirerade av Cezanne, samt stilleben.
Utställning: Nio Göteborgsmålare, tillsammans med Torsten Billman, Rudolf Flink, Alf Olof Leyman, Wilgot Olsson, Hugo Simson, Åke Winnberg, Per Lindekrantz och Olle Skagerfors, Göteborgs Konsthall 1966.
