Alois Arnegger was born in Vienna. He completed his studies at the Vienna Academy of Art and attended the classes of Robert Russ (1847-1922) and August Eisenmenger (1830-1907). In the 1920s he travelled through Italy. His most favored motifs were Mediterranean coastal landscapes, like those in Naples, Capri and San Remo, among others.
