Born in the Netherlands, schooled in Luxemburg, immigrated to the United States in 1979. "Currently living in Mount Vernon, Illinois, I was born and raised in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I also resided in Sweden, England, Luxembourg and Ohio. Before coming to the United States, I studied ceramics and sculpture in Luxembourg at the “l'Ecole des Beaux Arts et Metiers”. After my arrival in the United States I attended art classes at Kent State University in Ohio as a special student under John Gill from 1980 to 1984. Starting my own studio in 1985, I appeared in solo exhibitions and group shows in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Missouri and in New York City. In 1988 I received an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Ohio Arts Council and also the annual May Show Award for Ceramics of the Cleveland Museum of Art. Since moving to Mount Vernon, Illinois in 1993, I appeared in several solo and group exhibitions in Chicago, Paducah, Mount Vernon, Washington DC, Columbus Ohio and St. Louis."
