Anta Pavasson Pirak föddes 1873, som son till ett renskötande par i Sirges sameby. 1933 utkom boken En nomad och hans liv, där han skildrar arbetet med renskötseln och livet som renskötare. Fem år efter den svenska versionen utkom boken på samiska Jåhttesáme viessom (1937) och den anses vara ett av de viktigaste dokumenten på och om den lulesamiska dialekten.
