Erik Norselius studerade hos Alf Wallander i Stockholm. I slutet på 1890-talet flyttade han till Paris i Frankrike. Han besökt Italien och Spanien. I Paris var han elev till Raphael Collin, Courtois och Prinet. Han målade interiörer med figurer, samt friluftsbilder med bönder och unga flickor. En minneskollektion av hans konst visades 1957 på de svenska Pariskonstnärernas utställning i Le Cercle Suédois i Paris.
Representerad: i Nationalmuseum i Stockholm, i franska statens samlingar, muséerna i Dinars, Tours och Pau, samt i Jerusalems museum och i Institut Tessin, Paris.
