Lukas von Breda (Sen.). Släkten von Breda invandrade till Sverige från Hamburg runt 1670. Under 1690-talet antogs han som elev till Martin Mijtens d.ä. han fortsatte sedan sina konststudier 1704-1712 i Paris för Nicolas de Largillère. Han var även samlande och lade grunden till det konstgalleri som hans son Lucas von Breda d.y. och sonson Carl Fredric von Breda utvecklade.
