Rudolf HIRTH DU FRÊNES
Hirth du Frênes was the son of the notary and Georg Hirth his wife Louise Drevelle you Frênes. The Sinologist Friedrich Hirth and writer Georg Hirth were his brothers. At fifteen, Hirth studied art with August de Kreling in Nuremberg. Four years later he moved to Munich. At the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich he was a pupil of Hermann Anschütz. He shared a studio in Munich, where he excelled in the popular realism movement. Around 1880 he began to travel. For five years he went the major studios, galleries and museums of Holland, Belgium and France. Later in his career he depended on portraits to support himself. His last years of his life were spent in Miltenberg am Main.
