Tapio Pellervo Haili biography:
Printmaker/painter Tapio Pellervo Haili was born in Heinjoki, Finland on March 4 of 1927 and the family moved to Hyyinkää after WWII. Haili attended the Fee Art School in Helinski, Finland from 1949 through 1950 and then the Academy of Art until 1954. He received a number of scholarships overseas and began to travel, by 1962 he had been abroad 9 times and visited 22 countries.
Haili married Iria Patias and later marred Sinikka Männistő. He taught art and printmaking in Hyyinkää between 1976 and 1982, the last three as the school’s headmaster. Tapio Haili’s first exhibition was in Helinski in 1952 and he exhibited throughout Europe, Australia and China and is represented in collections throughout Finland, Russia, China and Australia.
