Axel Ebbe studied painting for Fred Krebs, and the sculpture of the Norwegian-Danish sculptor Stephan Sinding. He undertook study tours to Berlin, Vienna, Paris and London. His work is commonly found in public places in Skåne, Sweden. He was also an illustrator and writer. After his death in 1941 donated his works to the city of Trelleborg, Sweden. In 1935, opened an art gallery for his sculptures, it is currently operated by the municipality of Trelleborg, Sweden.
