Bo Örn är född i en liten by utanför Vasa, Finland, men uppväxt i Sverige. Han har studerat grafik i Tyskland och måleri för Lars Sjöström, för övrigt autodidakt. Han arbetar i tunna färgskikt med mjuk fördrivning och ljuset som central funktion. Han har en stiliserad kosmorealism med dramatiska rumsperspektiv, cosmoart, alternativt cosmosurrialism. Som grafiker har han arbetat med alla former av grafik, från enkla litografitryck i svartvitt och färglitografier, till det minst sagt svåra stentrycken, samt linoleumsnitt och träsnitt.
