Vertreter der abstrakten Malkunst in Italien, studierte in den Jahren 1936/ 37 an der florentinischen Akademie, nach Aufenthalt in Paris weiteres Studium an der Accademia di Brera in Mailand. Morlotti war Mitglied der Künstlerbewegung "Corrente", beteiligte sich 1947 an der "Fronte Nuovo delle Arti". Ab 1952 gehörte er der italienischen Künstlergruppe "Gruppo degli Otto" zusammen mit den Künstlern Afro Basaldella, Renato Birolli, Antonio Corpora sowie Emilio Vedova an. 1955 war er Teilnehmer an der ersten Documenta, 1959 an der zweiten Documenta in Kassel.
