Henri Cueco est un artiste et écrivain français. Sa peinture est politiquement engagée mais toujours avec humour, il appartient au mouvement de la Figuration narrative. En 1952, il présente son travail au Salon de la Jeune Peinture. Dix ans plus tard, il commence à peindre des séries, notamment : « Rivières », « Salles de bains », « Jeux d'adultes » (1965-1975) ou encore « Hommes rouges »…. Il utilise alors les rayures, les pointillés et les aplats de couleurs. En 1977, il fonde le Syndicat national des artistes plasticiens CGT (SNAP CGT). En 1979, il fonde l'association Pays-Paysage. Les années 1980, sont une période où l’artiste revient à des sujets plus classiques : aux paysages et aux natures mortes. Cueco enseigne à l’Université Paris VIII (Vincennes) ainsi qu’à Paris I.
