José Palmeiro est un artiste espagnol né en 1901 ou 1903 et décédé en 1984. Sa peinture est liée au postimpressionnisme, traitant surtout des paysages et des natures mortes. Il débute sa carrière en tant que dessinateur pour le journal El Sol. En 1925, il se rend à Paris où il fréquente Celso Lagar, Gines Parra, Oscar Dominguez, Picasso, Bores, ainsi que d’autres peintres espagnols de l’Ecole de Paris. Il expose dans les années 1930-40, notamment à la Galerie Elisha à Paris. Il passe ensuite 7 ans en Amérique avant de revenir en France puis en Espagne.
